I'm very concitious of what DLC I purchase. I refuse to validate selling me a costume that should have been optional on the game. Now if it's at least what Criteron is doing with Burnout Paradise, then I'm in.
Doesn't sound right. Microsoft has never been ashamed to say, or have information verified that they paid for an exclusive. In fact, the way Microsoft works is they would want a lil extra in value for their money. Think GTA4 with DLC.
My suspicion goes to SE losing money, development budget for the PS3, and its install base vs that of the 360. They had to make this move, just as much as Microsoft wanted to have FF13 on the Xbox 360.
PSN is actually really horrible when you think about it. You get free online, but the service isn't up to snuff. How many updates since the systems inception have people downloaded to add features? That's two years of inept gaming online, but somehow it's better than a paid service. One where you plug and play as easy as kicking slippers off. Yeah there's good logic in not paying...wrong...
Then you add to the fact that with all these updates it's still not better than live. So...
GTA4 is the bizzness all around. Microsoft and Take 2 are not stupid they know that there are rabid fanboys, critics, and retailers out there ready to bash DLC. For content and price. Take is trying to show that they don't need to be bought out by EA to be a sustainable publisher, or get more cake out of them. Either way Take 2 won't let RockStar halfass, along with the fact that Rockstar is pretty solid when it comes to gamers.
Anyone saying that they have moved on from GTA4 i...
That's a solid point. I mean what would be the incentive of a third party to push the 360? They rather get the gamer, get the money, and move on to the next thing. It's up to Microsoft to set the bar in many respects.
That's the argument from the PS3 camp that I respect. Which is you do need solid first party software. Except Sony isn't the best with some of their PS3 offerings, as many have failed to live up to the hype created around them. Still a solid argument though. <...
thing, I believe Microsoft has gotten a bit tired with all the talk about the PS3's power. Alan Wake maybe quite because they are taking quite a while to develop the game. Which leads me to thinking that they want it to make statements about the power of the Xbox 360 on many levels. Mysterious how we have not heard much about it, Microsoft is keeping it close to the chest. I guess we will have to see, but my money is on the game really being something special.
The problem with your logic is explained by the development community at large on both consoles. It takes alot longer development time to achieve those so called better graphics on the PS3. All of the games you are talking about are taking 3/4 years of development. That is not the case on the Xbox 360.
Which in fact goes right into this articles point about pushing the 360 hardware. Leaving more room to push the system. Taking the Gears 2 example, it's only a 2 year difference b...
Argument is rather easy to fix. Carmack went public with this knowing full well that it will spur Microsoft to change a couple of things. That's their best influenec on them. I say it's good for them. Also you have to understand that Carmack has an underlying motive.
Which is to get Id tech 5 into as many developer hands as possible. In doing so he can get them away from the Unreal Engine, which ironically enough blossoms on the 360. So what better way than to aim at the PS3 de...
This is the first generation where you have seen that. I think it comes down mainly to price and competition. So yes there are sub genres, but getting caught up on one platform won't allow you to elvovle the right way.
You take a look at the Wii, and you see an innovative system which is rarely if ever being used to it's full potential. At the same time its technology reintroduced in a new generation.
Then you look at Sony and Microsoft, both hardwares are entire...
Even though the PS3 is catching up (which is the key word folks). It still is behind, and the Xbox 360 is not slowing down. With the arcade unit going to $199 people are going to be picking it up. We are in the summer months, so expecting sales of the Xbox 360 to be up is dumb.
In fact I would go so far as to say that many of the PS3 sales worldwide can not be from gaming. There simply is not a robust enough library on the system. So Blu-ray is THE major reason.
said it best, Xbox 360 is in this generation. Which puts a nice bow on how big this news is. 2 years into both the PS3 and Wii, Microsoft has been able to make a next gen system affordable at $199 the sweet spot for gaming. There here 3 years into their own life cycle. So for anyone wanting to take the leap of faith from PS2 or anyone still playing their old Xbox/GC. Xbox 360 Arcade is sweet. I mean it's not about the PS2. Sony won the last generation, hands down. Microsoft is really looking ...
More like a PC then why would you need a PS4? Anyway if this is true that would mean they know that the PS3 is a lost cause. I mean it also makes sense looking at how they took out the BC feature in the lastest PS3's. You take a look at how quality software for the machine trickles out compared to how robust the Xbox 360 software is. I mean looking at the Xbox Arcade they are going to be at $199. How long will it be for the PS3 to be there? Quite a while.
The best part is that it's built on the PC so getting on the Xbox 360 will be a non issue. Remember all the talk from Sony reps about beginning development on the PS3 and how Xbox 360 games will be better for it? Well FF13 will be the perfect example of that...
only misses the mark because Microsoft is offering it without the hdd. Which is smart, at $199. So by them making it that price now parents who are bargin shopping because we have financial issues in the world allows them to upgrade into the next generation. It's really that simple. I mean is it rocket science to see that?
Not only that, it makes it harder for Sony to position the PS3 into prime real estate (price point). While for the remander of this generation Xbox arcades ...
list is filled with people ready to get this game day one. Couple of people I know who have PS3's plan on getting a 360 for this and other games come holiday's. Especially with price drop making it easier to own both consoles. So of the new rpgs coming like Infinite Undiscovery also. Which is a game I'm also curious about.
